This spectacular 1967 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL recently spent time in our Brookvale workshop for a comprehensive mechanical restoration. These classic "Pagodas" are beautiful cars, but they require precise mechanical work to drive as well as they look.
We performed a full rebuild on the engine to bring the straight-six back to factory specifications. To ensure reliability and smooth running, we also rebuilt the distributor and overhauled both the mechanical and electronic fuel pumps.

The drivetrain and handling were addressed too. We completed a full overhaul of the automatic transmission, ensuring it shifts correctly. The steering system also received a complete refresh, with both the power steering box and power steering pump being overhauled to restore the car's original feel.

The 280 SL has now been sent home to a very happy owner, driving exactly how a Mercedes-Benz should.
